The Animal Rights March is for all people who believe that the exploitation of animals must come to an end. Whether you are young or old, active for animal rights or not yet, we want you to join us at this colourful and peaceful demonstration.
Is the Animal Rights March also suitable for children?
Of course, the little ones are most welcome! The march is colourful, positive and peaceful and therefore also suitable for children. After all, their future is at stake.
Is the Animal Rights March Zurich conducted by an organization?
No, the Animal Rights March is organized by a group of independent people who work for animal rights. Various animal rights and animal protection organizations support the Animal Rights March Zurich by informing their members and participating in the march.
Who finances the Animal Rights March Zurich?
The costs of the permits and advertising material (eg. flyers, stickers, posters etc.) were financed by the organisation team itself. Any money from the sale of merchandise (t-shirts and bags) will be used for further advertising of the march. In addition, a crowdfunding campaign is running on wemakeit.com to finance a large poster campaign in the 6 largest cities in Switzerland.
Should there be any money left, it will be donated equally to two farms, ‘Hof Narr’ and ‘Tiermensch’, which actively support the Animal Rights March Zurich and will host various pre-events.
May I bring my own poster?
Yes please! We welcome all positive messages for animals, veganism and a peaceful future. What we do not want at the Animal Rights March Zurich are negative messages. We want to spread positivity throughout the event as we march through Zurich. Passers-by should see how colourful, cheerful and peaceful vegans are. The march should make passers-by want to join us!
“Meat is murder” is an example of a chant not to be roared at this event and should be saved for another more appropriate gathering! If you are looking for ideas for positive messages on your poster, then please join our poster making workshop. You can find dates of this under Pre-Events.
May I bring my own megaphone?
Sure you can! We want our message and our voice for the animals to be loud and powerful and a megaphone will make this easier. However in order to be understood, it is important that we all say the same thing at the same time. We will therefore distribute parole slips at the march and ask you to adhere to them in the order in which are written. All passers-by and the media need to be clear of our mesage!
Can I bring my dog to the march?
We will certainly not forbid your dog to participate in the Animal Rights March Zurich if he or she really wants to. Whether it is the right setting for your dog to walk through Zurich in the middle of summer with a loud background noise is up to you to decide. If you decide to participate with your dog, we recommend that you stay towards the back of the marching crowd rather than choosing a spot in the middle and please bring a water bowl with you.
